Do not apply a thick layer as it may start falling due to weight. After applying cement, level it with the remaining part of the roof by using a trowel. The next step is to let it dry. Usually, newly applied cement takes around 6 hours to dry completely. Once it has dried out, you can touch it and then apply the repair tape.

For few days, monitor the condition of the roof area that has been repaired. If you see wet spots appearing again, it simply means that the repair job has not been successful. Open the infected area and see whether the newly applied cement is in place or not.
